Prof. Dr. Serdar Nasır is a specialist in plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery based in Ankara. He performed Turkey’s second full face transplant in 2012. This procedure was the 22nd successful full face transplant worldwide at that time.

Specialization and Surgical Focus

Prof. Dr. Nasır performs reconstructive work alongside aesthetic procedures. He uses microsurgical techniques to resolve tissue problems caused by burns or trauma. Each surgical plan depends on patient anatomy and functional needs. These plans help restore both appearance and physical capability.

Academic Research and Training

Prof. Dr. Nasır conducted research in composite tissue transplantation in the United States. Between 2006 and 2008, he worked at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. He collaborated there with Dr. Maria Siemionow, who performed the first face transplant in the U.S. This period focused on studies in composite tissue transplants – the surgical transfer of multiple tissues like skin, bone, and muscle as a single unit.
