Klinikum Links der Weser in Bremen is one of the 4 hospitals of the Gesundheit Nord-Klinikverbund Bremen network (Nord Klinik Allianz). 250,000 patients are treated in the medical centers of the network per year. Links der Weser Hospital was founded in 1968. In 2013, the hospital was completely renovated and modernized. Today the hospital includes 11 departments and works as a specialized center for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
The hospital is located 6 km from the center of Bremen and 5 km away from the international airport.

The network of Gesundheit Nord hospitals, including Klinikum Links der Weser, was ranked among leading medical institutions in Germany according to Focus magazine. Focus evaluates hospitals according to such criteria as the number of successful operations, patients’ reviews, modern equipment, and the doctors' qualifications.
Certified as the Center for the chest pain treatment by the German Cardiac Surgery Society (DGK)
Links der Weser in Bremen is among 200 hospitals in Germany certified by the DGK. This confirms that doctors diagnose and treat the cause of pain in the breastbone in a short time.
The Center focuses on the treatment of all cardiovascular diseases in children and adults. The Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery Departments, Heart Catheterization Lab, and the Stroke Treatment Unit are located on the premises of the Center.
Cardiology and Angiology (vascular treatment)
The Center mainly specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of heart diseases with a catheter. The laboratory for cardiac catheterization was opened in 1981.
The catheter (endovascular) surgery is a minimally invasive intervention with a thin tube that is inserted through the femoral, inguinal or carpal artery. The procedure does not require cuts of the sternum (breastbone), so a patient recovers in 1-2 days. A person feels no postoperative pain, and there are no scars left on the body.
Doctors conduct procedures in a special hybrid operating room. This is a modern room with all the necessary equipment to perform open and minimally invasive (through a catheter) heart operations.

- 1,200 TAVI procedures
- 350 MitraClip procedures for the heart failure treatment.
Cardiosurgery Department
The Cardiosurgery Department started its work in 1983. In the same year, the doctors performed the first heart operation using a cardiopulmonary bypass.

Annually, cardiac surgeons of the Department perform 2,100 operations. Doctors carry out the majority of interventions through minimally invasive incisions without opening the sternum. This technique reduces the time of the surgery and postoperative rehabilitation.

Pregnancy follow-up and childbirth
In 2016, Klinikum Links der Weser became the first hospital in Bremen by the number of 3,000 babies born.
Doctors of the Department monitor the women’s health and the proper development of the fetus. Experts perform heart ultrasound and Doppler exam (the study of blood vessels) of a mother and child in the womb. In case of developmental disorders, doctors eliminate them in time.
Childbirth is provided in the delivery wards with modern adjustable beds. Before childbirth, women are explained the methods of anesthesia, and the safest is chosen.
Obstetricians, anaesthesiologists and pediatricians are on 24/7 duty in the ward. The Obstetrics and Pediatric Resuscitation Departments are located in the adjacent premises. Therefore, in case of complications during childbirth or after them, the doctors are ready to immediate help.
Treatment of gynecological diseases
The doctors of the Department specialize in treating of uterine fibroids, malignant tumors and urinary incontinence.
Most of the surgeries performed in the Department are minimally invasive and organ-preserving. This means doctors perform interventions through small incisions (1-3 cm) or without them (through the vagina). After minimally invasive procedures, recovery is faster and less painful than after open surgery. Surgeons perform the removal of the uterus or fallopian tubes extremely rarely, only after a thorough diagnosis.
Every year, gynecological surgeons perform 2,200 operations.

Ich habe am 19.06.19, auf meinem Geburtstag meine Tochter dort per Kaiserschnitt bekommen. War 10 Tage vorher zur Einleitung schon stationär. Tolles Team auf der Station 6, Kreißsaal und in der Anästhesie. Ich würde jedem empfehlen sich diese Klinik anzusehen. Leider merkt man auch hier, das im Gesundheitswesen definitiv etwas falsch läuft. Ein andrer Kreißsaal geschlossen und leider die gerade Hilfe brauchen, dort werden dann die Hebammen etc knapp und man muss als schon aufgenommene zurückstecken. Dafür kann das LDW definitiv nichts.

Ich war heute in der kardiologischen Praxis zur Untersuchung. Positiv ist die vom Hausarzt vermittelte sehr kurzfristige Terminvergabe zu vermerken sowie die schnelle Untersuchung, fast ohne Wartezeit. Schockiert hat mich das ungewöhnlich geringe Interesse der Ärztin an ihrem Patienten: - keine ordentliche Anamnese - kein Interesse für meine spezifische Situation - kein Interesse an den von mir mitgebrachten früheren Befunden und Messdaten anderer Ärzte. … Bei einem gut programmierter Medizinroboter hätte mich vermutlich wohler gefühlt. Freiwillig gehe ich da nicht wieder hin.

Also 4 Stunden zu warten, mit Aufnahme und EKG und dann wieder nach Hause geschickt zu werden weil keine Betten mehr frei sind ... was ist das bloß für eine Organisation und Frechheit gegenüber alten gebrechlichen Menschen! Liebes Krankenhaus mal tief in sich gehen und darüber nachdenken.

Ich habe vor etwas mehr als einem Jahr mein Kind dort geboren. Es war schrecklich. Ich wurde schlecht behandelt, war einsam, man war unfreundlich zu mir, Medikamente wurden vergessen... Noch heute muss ich weinen, wenn ich daran denke. Mein Mann durfte nicht zu mir, meine Wehen wurden nicht ernst genommen, es gab keine einheitlichen Handlungsstrategien was nach einem Blasensprung zu tun ist, ich wurde wirklich brutal untersucht. Nach der Geburt (zu der mein Mann dann endlich …kommen durfte, nachdem man ihm sagte ich sei gar nicht dort.. aber eben nur die letzten 2,5 Stunden) hatte meine Bettnachabrin den ganzen Tag immer 5 Besucher im Zimmer, obwohl nur 2 zugelassen sind und eine Pflegerin hat mich gegen meinen Willen nackt vor den fremden Leuten (das andere Paar und die 5 Besucher) aus dem Bett gezerrt! Ich sagte nein und sie zog mich dennoch nackt aus dem Bett. Ich hab mich 24 Stunden nach der Geburt selbst entlassen, musste aber noch eine Untersuchung über mich ergehen lassen. Mir wurden Fragen gestellt und ohne jede Vorwarnung wurde mir einfach die Hose heruntergerissen (!) um nach dem Wochenfluss zu schauen. Mag für die Entlassung eine nötige Untersuchung sein, aber ohne etwas zu sagen einfach die Hose runterreißen? Ich werde dort nach Möglichkeit nicht mehr gebären! Man hat mir dort so viel genommen..

Liest sich sehr gut, mein erster Eindruck nach Notfall war die ersten Tage sehr positiv, ABER inzwischen werden wir Patienten hin- und hergeschoben, keine geplanten und festen Termine, ich selbst musste 2 Mal vom Herzkathedertisch wieder runter.... Momentan arbeitet mein Herz seit Tagen hier nur mit max. 10% und trotz meiner lebensbedrohenden Atmungsnot angeblich kein OP-Termin in Sicht... Inzwischen sehe ich das Ganze als unterlassene Hilfeleistung!
