Same Clinic, New Name, Same Damage — Stay Away
This is a follow-up to a review I posted earlier, but unfortunately, nothing has changed — and I’ve come to realize just how calculated and careless this clinic truly is. They recently rebranded from Gold City Hair Transplant to Acıbadem Saç Ekimi (Acibadem Hair Transplant), clearly in an attempt to bury the mounting complaints tied to their old name. But don’t be fooled — it’s the same team, the same empty promises, and the same devastating outcomes.
Across two procedures totaling over 8,250 grafts, I suffered permanent damage: visible scarring, an overharvested donor area, and patchy density that left me worse off than before. I followed every single aftercare step, but still ended up with long-term redness and skin sensitivity. When I raised concerns, they tried to shift the blame onto me — until multiple doctors (including their own) admitted that something had clearly gone wrong.
Before the surgery, they confidently push their so-called warranty. After? It magically disappears. I formally requested a refund based on the written guarantee they gave me. I even told them clearly: if they refunded me, I’d delete my review and use the money to pay another clinic to try to fix the damage they caused. That’s how desperate I was to move on. But they ignored me completely. The warranty is a scam — just marketing fluff with zero follow-through.
When my original review went public, they didn’t try to resolve anything. They tried to silence me. They asked me to remove my review in exchange for vague “support,” claiming results might “take six months.” It’s been well over a year. The outcome is clearly irreversible — and they knew it all along.
I even flew back to Istanbul for a final consultation, hoping they’d finally take responsibility. They admitted nothing could be reversed. Their “solution”? A pointless stem cell treatment (which they openly said wouldn’t help) and a tattoo to hide the damage. That’s when I realized they never intended to make things right — only to protect their image.
Despite paying for their highest-tier package — twice — they stuck me in the cheapest accommodation possible. That pretty much sums up how little they value the people they harm.
Their Instagram is still filled with curated photos and glowing reviews. I fell for that too. Don’t make the same mistake. If you see Acıbadem Saç Ekimi, remember: it’s just Gold City Hair Transplant hiding behind a new name. A rebrand won’t erase what they did — and no one should go through what I did.
These are my photos more than two years after surgery. They speak for themselves — the damage is real, and permanent.

It has been 12 months since I' ve done the hair transplant and I'm pretty happy with the results in the front area. In the top/crown area the hair is still thin but hopefully growing! The procedure, treatment and follow up has been very professional and up to a high standard! Definitely recommending the clinic, it's team and the follow up staff.

After almost one year of having my fue saphire transplant, I can definitely recommend this place. From the moment I arrived, to the professionalism of the entire staff, the attentiveness of the medical staff during the whole process, pre-operative, during the operation and post-operative care, as well as the final result. Dr Harun is a great doctor who together with his team listened to my needs and wishes. After the operation, I was constantly in communication with the doctor and his team, and over several months; they made sure, that I was healing well and showed interest in me as a patient and human.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Gold City Hair Transplantation Center in Istanbul, and I can confidently say it was one of the best experiences of my life. From the moment I arrived, the entire team went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and care throughout the entire process.

I wholeheartedly recommend Gold City Hair Transplantation Center to anyone considering hair restoration. This experience not only changed my appearance but also left me with a profound appreciation for the warmth and dedication of the entire team.

Finding a trustworthy clinic for a hair transplant requires serious research, especially in Turkey where there are countless clinics and an overwhelming number of suspicious reviews. I thought I was being cautious, but I now realize how badly I was misled.
The clinic I chose was originally called Gold City Hair Transplant, which has since changed its name to Acıbadem Saç Ekimi – Acibadem Hair Transplant. This rebranding appears to be a clear attempt to escape the growing number of negative experiences and protect their image. But no name change can undo the damage they caused to me and likely others.
Their Instagram was filled with impressive before-and-after photos, reviews seemed good, and their pricing wasn't cheap. Naturally, I assumed that paying more meant I’d receive better care. I was wrong.
The reality is that this clinic operates like a mass production line. They run several surgeries at once, handled primarily by young, minimally experienced technicians, with only one doctor overseeing the entire process. The doctor only performs the grafting, while the technicians are responsible for the rest — including critical steps like extracting grafts. While the staff were polite, that does not make up for the lack of care or professionalism.
I had two hair transplant sessions: one in November 2021 and another a year later. Over 8,250 grafts were transplanted in total. The first session produced poor results, which I reported to the clinic. They promised the second would correct everything. Unfortunately, the second session left me with permanent, visible damage.
I strictly followed all aftercare instructions. Despite that, the clinic later tried to shift the blame onto me — even after multiple doctors (including their own) admitted something had gone seriously wrong.
Now, more than a year after the second transplant, it’s clear that the damage is irreversible. My donor area is severely overharvested, leaving patches of thinning hair and visibly damaged skin. Redness persists constantly and worsens with sun or saltwater exposure. Hair density in the transplanted area is still shockingly low despite the high graft count.
After it became obvious that the results were far from what was promised — and considering the written warranty they provided — I formally requested a refund. Unsurprisingly, that request was completely ignored. The warranty turned out to be meaningless. They were happy to promote it before the surgery, but refused to acknowledge it afterward when things went wrong.
When I initially raised concerns, the clinic dismissed me with generic advice like “apply lotion.” Once I shared my experience publicly, they tried to manipulate me into deleting my review in exchange for “help,” warning that any improvement would take “at least six months” — a tactic clearly meant to delay and discourage accountability.
I traveled back to Istanbul for a final consultation. They admitted that the damage could not be reversed and performed a stem cell treatment — while clearly stating it would not help. Their proposed “solution”? A tattoo to camouflage the scarring. That was when I realized the so-called warranty they offer is worthless.
Even worse, the clinic paid for a stay at the cheapest possible accommodation, despite the fact I had purchased their top-tier treatment package — twice. That says a lot about how they value patients, especially those harmed by their own procedures.
Please be aware: if you’re researching clinics and come across Acıbadem Saç Ekimi, know that this is just the new name for Gold City Hair Transplant. Don’t let the rebrand fool you. No change in name can hide the reality of what happens behind closed doors.
