Prof. n. med. Yusuf Serdar Sakin urodził się w Nevşehir w 1978 roku. Po ukończeniu szkoły podstawowej i średniej w Ankarze, w 2002 roku ukończył studia na Wydziale Lekarskim Wojskowej Akademii Medycznej Gülhane.
Po ukończeniu studiów służył w Gole/Ardahan przez dwa lata. Rozpoczął szkolenie z medycyny wewnętrznej w Katedrze Medycyny Wewnętrznej Wydziału Lekarskiego Gülhane.
Po ukończeniu szkolenia pracował jako specjalista chorób wewnętrznych w Ankarze. Rok później rozpoczął dodatkowe szkolenie w Katedrze Gastroenterologii na Wydziale Lekarskim Gülhane i ukończył szkolenie w 2014 r.
