Prof. dr Osman İLHAN ukończył Wydział Lekarski Uniwersytetu w Ankarze w 1978 roku. Po ukończeniu rezydentury z medycyny wewnętrznej na tym samym wydziale w 1982 roku, pełnił funkcję starszego rezydenta w Klinice Hematologii GATA podczas służby wojskowej. Po odbyciu obowiązkowej służby w szpitalu SSK Ulus powrócił na Wydział Lekarski Uniwersytetu w Ankarze, aby podjąć specjalizację. W 1990 roku został profesorem nadzwyczajnym hematologii.
